While there has been recent talk about the demise of the newspaper industry. While newspaper readership around the country is down – it’s not down with this market segment. In fact, older Americans continue to read their newspapers every day as they have habitually done for so many years. Almost 70% of people over 65 years of age still read a newspaper daily and that includes both men and women. Americans who read the newspaper are more highly educated and have higher household income and savings. They typically will spend 43% more time reading a publication, like The Senior Gazette, rather than a standard newspaper and will read virtually every page looking for content (and advertisements). Many will refer to an issue multiple times before the next one becomes available.
